What RoomTalk collects
RoomTalk does not collect personal information. It has no accounts and no sign-up. The app captures microphone audio only while the listening switch is on and the app is open, converts it to text on the device, and stores the resulting captions locally on your phone.
Where your data is stored
Captions and saved conversations are stored only on your device. They are never sent to RoomTalk, to us, or to any third party. There are no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking tools in the app.
Microphone use
The microphone is used solely to generate live captions while you are listening. Audio is processed in real time on the device and is not recorded to a server or uploaded anywhere.
Deleting your data
You can delete any saved conversation at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all of its stored data from your device.
Children
RoomTalk is a general-purpose accessibility tool and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Recording laws
Because RoomTalk can caption other people's speech, recording and consent laws vary by region. The always-visible “Listening” indicator is there so the people around you know when it is on. Please use RoomTalk in line with the laws where you are.
